CHICAGO – Griselda Vega Samuel, Midwest Regional Counsel for MALDEF (Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund), is taking an unpaid leave from her position at the organization effective January 12, 2024. She is doing so in order to run for Cook County Circuit Judge in the 14th Judicial Subcircuit. She will campaign for nomination at the March 19 primary, and, if she prevails, will also be on the ballot in the November general election.
Vega Samuel joined MALDEF in 2018, and she has served as Midwest Regional Counsel ever since.
